Units Question

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to overcome some problems I'm having with using units in my documents.

In the attached worksheet, I ran into a problem that I can't figure out how to solve. I could not find an explanation anywhere for this.

I defined three angles, theta1, theta2, and theta3. These will be in radians. Delta is an arbitrary virtual displacement and I gave it inch units. I think that the variable "s" is the problem. It is unknown at this point in the problem and must be solved for later on. It will have inch units also. I don't know how to tell mathcad at this point in the document that s will be inches, so it gives me the inconsistent units error when I add the three internal virtual work terms together. I tried inserting an inch unit right beside s in the theta1 equation and beside s" in the IW2 and IW3 equations, but this did not eliminate the error.

What am I doing wrong? Surely this can be done and I'm just missing something simple.

Thanks in advance.
