I have a problem where I need to use a solve block to find a symbolic equation.
I have a Probability Distribution Formula (PDF), and need to find the mode. The mode occurs where the PDF is at it's highest point, and therefore where the first derivative = 0. For anyone interested, this is the Weibull distribution, commonly used in engineering for failure rate estimation.
I will try to attach the details. The point is that this worked perfectly well in Mathcad 13, but not in 14. It tells me that the symbolic information is too large to be displayed. I am assuming that it is somthing basic, like I have to flip a value, or use a different function in 14. Maybe it is something as simple as defining the variable range (i.e. where k >1). Not sure - can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
Philip
