Smartsketch

I have created a simple symbol in smartsketch (it is the cross section of a steel beam). I want to set up the symbol so 5 variables in mathcad will automatically draw it to the correct scale for me. I can't find a tutorial that teaches me how to do this. I know it involves attributes and parameters but I can't make sense of the basic help features. How do I do it
